I think was was meant there was that you'll have difficulty finding a manual 
transmission bellhousing for a 3.8.  There were a few (rare) 4 speeds in the 
late 70s, apparently, but other than that it'd probably come down to using a 
BOP adapter on a Chevy bellhousing and fabricating a flywheel adapter, 
clutch linkage, etc.  I'd like to see a T56 behind one.   :-)

A blowoff valve would help, yes.  There are lots of import turbos running 
sticks with these successfully.  The stock MAF setup is before the turbo and 
connected to the turbo inlet with a hose; it would be fairly easy to plumb a 
blow-off's discharge back in before the turbo.  I would be careful to do so 
at least a foot or so away from the MAF to avoid turbulence-induced false 
MAF readings, though.

The 3.8 is actually wider than a SBC; it fits in a 240Z with a custom 
downpipe, though.  I'd bet you'd end up with some creative (read: 
fenderwell) downpipe routing.
